Furmily stores your pets' information on your device. No account is required, and the app has no ads, analytics or tracking.
If you create or join a family, records are encrypted on your device (AES-256-GCM) before they are sent to the Furmily sync server. The encryption key exists only inside your family's invite link and is never sent to the server, so we cannot read your data. The server stores encrypted records, a random family identifier, and a hash of an access token.
Anyone who has your invite link can access your family's data — share it only with people you trust. You can create a new link at any time, which deletes the old family data from the server and disconnects old links.
If you turn on "Sync via iCloud", the family key is stored in your iCloud Keychain, which is end-to-end encrypted by Apple. It is never sent to our server.
Reminders are scheduled locally on each device.
